We’ll practice with our favorite Indian teacher Yogrishi Vishvaketu, attend the International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan Ashram, learn from and listen to one of the most renowned sitar players in India Deobrat Sitar, meditate at the Dalai Lama’s residence, hike in the Himalayas, see one of the 8 Wonders of the World, meditate at Neem Karoli Baba’s Ashram, receive ayurvedic massages, take a cooking class, and so much more...As if that isn’t enough, we also will enjoy daily classes with Nicki Doane! She’s an internationally recognized, authentic gem with roots in the traditions of yoga. The perfect fit for this spiritual adventure. Days are filled with beautiful scenery, great food, new friends, and exciting cultural activities.
The spiritual journey begins in Varanasi - one of oldest continually inhabited cities in the world and the heart of Hindu spirituality. From there, we'll continue on to Rishikesh, considered by many to be the birthplace of yoga. We'll study yoga with an Indian master as well participate in world renowned International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Lastly, we'll travel north to the Himalayan mountains and immerse ourselves in Buddhist culture in Dharamsala, the place where His Holiness the Dalai Lama considers home.
Between Nicki and your leader, SoulJour's founder, Ashley Melin, we have 20 trips since 1991 under our belts and have lead groups to India for 12 year. This is the culmination of these experiences. India is our hOMe away from hOMe and for real - this really is the “Best of!”
